How Did Adie Digitize Its Loan Subscription Process in 3 Days?

Adie is a nonprofit organization recognized for public benefit that promotes the right to economic self-employment through supported microcredit. Thanks to Namirial’s electronic signature, the organization managed to digitize its entire loan subscription process in just 3 days.

Founded in 1989, Adie operates in mainland France and overseas territories, granting nearly €150 million in microcredits to around 30,000 entrepreneurs every year. In late 2019, the organization began exploring the digitalization of its loan contract subscription process, aiming to streamline and modernize contracting procedures while easing the administrative steps for its clients.

Putting Digital at the Service of Human Relationships

Taking out a loan is a sensitive act that requires advice and complete information for entrepreneurs. Until March 2020, Adie still relied entirely on paper-based processes for all its activities.

Before the health crisis, every appointment was conducted in person and contracts were signed by hand. The organization had no alternative to handwritten signatures for loan contracts, which required printing and mailing the documents. To save time and reduce potential processing errors, Adie wanted to integrate electronic signature into its subscription process.

“Putting digital at the service of the human relationship was essential for us, within the framework of a hybrid usage model, both in person and remote.”

— Matthieu Barrier, Deputy Director of Adie’s Network

Adapting to the Covid Context to Keep Activity Going

Faced with the urgency of the health situation, Adie held a selection committee on March 17, 2020 — the first day of lockdown in France — to implement electronic signature. The goal: to help its advisors quickly adapt to the crisis and save time to focus on relationships with entrepreneurs.

A Fully Digitized Process in Three Days

At the height of the lockdown, between April and May 2020, Namirial‘s electronic signature allowed Adie to shift, within three days, from a 100% paper-based contracting process to a fully digital one, under the best security conditions — allowing the organization to sign between 3,000 and 4,000 contracts during that period.

Since integrating the Namirial tool, 8,000 electronic signatures of loan and guarantee files are carried out every month. Today, while Adie’s clients still have the choice between handwritten or electronic signature, 75% of contracts are now signed electronically, making access to credit easier.

Looking ahead, Adie also aims to develop a 100% digital client subscription journey, with the creation of a dedicated customer area on its website.

“Namirial’s rapid response to our tender, its strong understanding of our needs, its smooth demonstration of the solution, and its solid reputation in the banking and insurance world were decisive factors in our choice. The support on regulatory compliance and the legal value of the solution also made all the difference. Electronic signature very quickly established itself as essential to the life of the network. Extremely easy to use and fast to implement, it immediately won over our advisors and volunteers, who use it daily throughout France.”

— Matthieu Barrier, Deputy Director of Adie’s Network

Namirial is very proud to support an organization like Adie in its digitalization journey. Taking out a loan is not a trivial act, and thanks to electronic signature, Adie’s advisors can now save time to focus on their relationships with entrepreneurs. It’s important to be able to rely on organizations like Adie when starting out as an entrepreneur, and electronic signature clearly allowed the organization to keep its activity going despite the lockdown.
