The Digital Identity unConference Europe (DICE) is a unique forum for those actively shaping digital identity systems across Europe and Switzerland. It brings together leading experts from business, academia, public administration, and politics – including computer scientists, mathematicians, legal professionals, and economists – to identify current challenges, develop concrete solutions, and drive the evolution of interoperable digital identity infrastructures.
Following the overwhelming success of the first two editions – most recently in 2024, which sold out weeks in advance and featured high-profile participants such as Paolo de Rosa, CTO of the European Digital Identity Wallet at the European Commission – DICE will take place twice in 2025. Namirial will actively participate in the second edition from September 2 to 4, once again hosted at Trust Square in Zurich.
Unlike traditional conferences, DICE follows a dynamic Open Space format, built on the principle that meaningful change comes from the people doing the work. There is no pre-set agenda. Instead, participants co-create the program on each day of the event, focusing on the issues that matter most to them. This highly interactive format facilitates open discussion, deep collaboration, and practical outcomes – with no staged presentations or passive audiences.
To ensure an engaged and purpose-driven setting, participants are asked to state their intentions when registering. This includes the critical ecosystem success factors they wish to explore, the key friction points hindering the adoption of verifiable credentials, and what they hope to learn and contribute. All discussions are documented, shared with the community, and designed to lead to concrete, actionable results beyond the event itself.
