Wallet Gateway
The API-based service that keeps away from relying parties the complexity of protocols and standards and ensures integration with all EUDI wallets
Wallet Gateway
Easy integration
Connect your systems to issue and verify user credentials and attributes in a wallet, e.g. for KYC or SCA. Take advantage of the power of the EUDI wallet ecosystem with minimal integration effort.

The Ideal Solution for Accessing the EUDI Wallet Ecosystem
The introduction of the EUDI Wallet brings with it evolving protocols and technological frameworks. These protocols define not only how digital credentials must be issued, verified and managed, but also require specialized expertise to ensure interoperability, cryptographic security and regulatory compliance. Navigating this complex landscape means facing significant challenges.
With Wallet Gateway, through a single API integration, it becomes easy to interact with all the EUDI Wallets throughout the 27 EU Member States. It eliminates the need to manage multiple standards and data formats, handling all the complexities while exposing a standard API and providing:
- harmonization of heterogeneous digital credentials, enabling consistent interpretation and processing of identity data. This supports any workflows, such as the management of different credential formats and the automation of KYC/AML and SCA processes.
- constant alignment with the latest version of European and international standards and regulations. This integrated compliance layer eliminates the need to monitor regulatory and technical roadmaps.
- the opportunity to leverage QTSP infrastructure for issuing credentials (such as professional qualifications, educational diplomas, certificates and travel documents), and executing legally valid transactions, ensuring credential validity and authenticity throughout both issuance and verification processes.

Age verification without disclosing any other sensitive information, in compliance with the data minimization principle
One of the key objectives of the European Commission is to facilitate practical adoption across all EU countries of a comprehensive age verification approach, built on the EUDI Wallet technological framework and compliant to the Digital Services Act (art. 28).
Age-restricted online services can leverage this solution to verify the eligibility of individuals to access contents online, such as those restricted to adults, respecting the selective disclosure of personal information and relying on trusted data received from EUDI Wallet solutions.

Data normalization is essential to harmonize attributes coming from different national systems
Ensuring semantic consistency and syntactic uniformity is essential for enabling service providers to process user attributes without adapting to country-specific rules or sector-specific formats.
In the EUDI Wallet context, user attributes may be represented using different scales, formats, or classification models, depending on their origin. Without normalization, such heterogeneity would prevent consistent interpretation and hinder cross-border or cross-domain interoperability.
Wallet Gateway performs data normalization by applying mapping rules, semantic translations, and conformity checks against EUDI Wallet specifications. As a result, heterogeneous inputs are transformed into standardized, machine-readable attributes that can be reliably consumed by relying parties.
This mechanism ensures that services across the European digital identity ecosystem can interpret and validate user data in a consistent manner, while preserving legal validity and compliance with EUDI Wallet standards.

Handle different procotols, standard and data format with a single technical interoperability layer
Wallet Gateway acts as a technical interoperability layer, ensuring the correct handling of different communication protocols, standards, and data formats, as well as guaranteeing that every transaction adheres to the latest EUDI Wallet requirements and EU regulations.
It supports OpenID for Verifiable Credential Issuance (OID4VCI) and OpenID for Verifiable Presentations (OID4VP), the global standards for how a digital Wallet receives and shares digital credentials. This enables credential issuance and verification in both mdoc and SD-JWT formats.
The EUDI Wallet as a 2FA tool in processes requiring SCA for online identification
From 24 December 2027, relying parties in the banking and financial sector, including Payment Service Providers (PSPs), shall accept the European Digital Identity Wallet as a mean of strong customer authentication (SCA), in accordance with PSD2 Article 97 and eIDAS 2 Article 5f(2). The EUDI Wallet may be used as a two-factor authentication tool when accessing a payment account online, initiating electronic payment transactions, or performing any remote action that may carry a risk of payment fraud or abuse (including non-payment actions such as changing a PIN code).
In line with eIDAS 2, Wallet Gateway enables authentication via the EUDI Wallet using trusted digital credentials. It also allows service providers to issue verifiable digital credentials that can be used within the Wallet for SCA-compliant authentication in payment flows under PSD2.
In synthesis, Wallet Gateway allows to:
- Submit payment data or authentication requests through standardized protocols.
- Validate digital credentials, ensuring regulatory compliance with eIDAS 2 and PSD2 SCA requirements.
- Support cross-border transactions and interoperability.
