Namirial launches global sandbox to shape the future of Digital Identity Wallets

Senigallia, Milan, October 16, 2025 – Namirial, a leading European Qualified Trust Service Provider, today announced the open launch of a global sandbox environment for its Wallet Platform, enabling customers worldwide to experiment with the next generation of digital identity and trust services. The Namirial Wallet Platform — recognized in the European Large Scale Pilot Potential as the most interoperable wallet and verification solution available, and already validated by its first wave of pilot customers — now enters a new phase with the launch of the Global Sandbox

The Namirial Wallet Platform consists of three core components:

  • Wallet Gateway (Attribute Verification) – Built for all customers, especially those in regulated sectors, this module enables verification of wallet-stored attributes. With regulatory deadlines approaching in December 2027, Namirial offers this feature as a ready-to-integrate service to ensure compliance and smooth adoption.
  • Wallet App (Attribute Control) – Designed for governments and large organizations aiming to become Wallet Providers, Wallet App is fully aligned with the European Digital Identity Wallet (EUDI Wallet) framework. The platform supports both consumer and business use cases, with the ability to load credentials such as the Legal Person Identifier (LPID). It also anticipates the evolution towards Business Wallets.
  • Wallet Studio (Attribute Issuing) – Tailored for organizations holding valuable attributes that they wish to make available as qualified credentials to end users. Namirial is actively contributing to the development of a standard for attribute monetization, unlocking new market opportunities and creating sustainable incentives for attribute diffusion.

Through the sandbox, customers can experience firsthand the activation of a Wallet, starting with a simplified issuance of a Person Identifier (PID). Early use cases will include age verification, the issuance of attributes (i.e. IBAN), strong customer authentication (SCA), student cards, business identity also needed for employee wallets, providing a tangible preview of the coming revolution in digital identity.

Max Pellegrini, CEO of Namirial, commented: “Our initiative is designed to give our customers the opportunity to experiment today with what will define tomorrow. By providing access to a live sandbox, we want to accelerate innovation and prepare the market for the upcoming transformations in digital identity.”

Luigi Castaldo, Wallet Ecosystem Director at Namirial, added: “The launch of our sandbox for the Wallet Platform demonstrates our commitment to delivering practical tools that help organizations anticipate regulatory and market changes. This is just the beginning of a journey where Namirial will continue to support our customers in adopting secure digital identity solutions, compliant with EU regulations.”

The announcement builds on Namirial’s active participation in European initiatives, including the Potential Large Scale Pilot, the development of the Business Wallet, and advancements such as the Digital Product Passport (DPP). Namirial remains closely engaged in technical standardization activities and European regulatory workstreams to ensure its Wallet Platform stays continuously updated and ready for national pilots, including the upcoming IT Wallet experimentation in Italy

Customers and partners interested in joining the sandbox can register now via the Namirial Wallet Portal: namirial.com/en/wallet

Namirial will also showcase the platform in action during the webinar “The Wallet Moment: Discover Namirial’s Platform and What Comes Next in Europe”  taking place on November the 13th, more information on Namirial website.
