Namirial integrates itsme® with its Signature Platform to streamline compliant Digital Transactions in Belgium and beyond

Paris, 15th May – Namirial, a leading international provider of trust services and digital transaction management solutions, today announced the integration of itsme®—Belgium’s most trusted digital identity solution—into its digital signature platform. This integration further enhances the Namirial Sign suite, including the Enterprise edition, which provides advanced capabilities for workflow management and process orchestration across complex signing scenarios.

Recently recognized as a market leader by several analysts, Namirial has been named a winner of the 2024 Aragon Research Innovation Award for Digital Transaction Management, the company is actively investing in the seamless integration of strong digital identity solutions into its signature workflows through its Namirial Onboarding suite, including the ID Hub module. This platform is designed to integrate with existing and relevant digital identities across the various markets Namirial serves, enabling a unified and efficient user experience. The integration of itsme® is a key milestone in this broader strategy and supports Namirial’s mission to reduce friction in compliant processes, reinforcing its guiding principle: “Where Compliance Meets Simplicity.”

itsme®, which has earned the trust of over 7 million users, is the leading digital identity in Belgium and is now expanding its footprint across 16 other European countries. Its rapid growth—doubling its growth rate and achieving record results in 2024 (source)—demonstrates its strategic role in the digital identity ecosystem.

With this integration, Namirial customers can now leverage itsme® for Qualified Electronic Signatures (QES) thanks to Namirial Sign Enterprise flagship product, benefiting from a streamlined user experience, high assurance levels, and full compliance with eIDAS Regulation.

This development is particularly relevant for the Belgian market, where qualified signatures are legally required for many key digital processes. itsme® has long been considered a trusted standard for identification on government platforms, as well as with financial service providers, telecom operators, and insurance companies. These verified credentials now enable seamless, compliant signing experiences across use cases such as:

  • Hiring and employment contracts
  • Company documents, including share and bond transfers
  • Tax filings and communications with public authorities
  • Consumer credit agreements and loan applications
  • Property and housing lease contracts
  • Medical consent forms and certain healthcare-related agreements
  • Procurement and tender documentation involving government entities

The integration of strong digital identities like itsme® into our signature platform reflects our vision for the future of digital trust,” said Matteo Panfilo, Product Strategy Director at Namirial. “As Europe moves toward the wallet era, embedding identity into signature workflows is essential – not only for compliance but also for creating truly user-friendly experiences. This partnership is key to enabling trusted transactions across sectors and borders.”

Through this collaboration, Namirial and itsme® are delivering a scalable, legally robust solution for digital signing that is tailored to both the regulatory demands of national markets and the evolving expectations of users across Europe.

“We are proud to partner with Namirial, a recognized leader in digital transaction management” said Lise Plaziat, Partner and Alliance Manager at itsme®. “This integration demonstrates how two trusted providers can come together to offer citizens and businesses a secure, intuitive, and fully compliant digital signing experience. As we expand beyond Belgium, collaborations like this are essential to delivering on our vision of trusted digital identity across borders.”

The announcement of this partnership comes at a significant moment, as it coincides with the Namirial Partner Campus 2025 in Paris, an event that brings together industry leaders and partners to explore the future of digital transformation. The event offers a unique momentum to discuss the latest trends and innovations in secure digital onboarding, eSignatures, and other cutting-edge technologies that are reshaping the digital trust industry globally.

About itsme®

Since 2017, the itsme® app has been the simple and secure reference for mobile identification and privacy protection in the digital world. Today, itsme® has more than 7 million users and is adopted across more than 20 different sectors. With itsme®, users can: identification (create a new online account and share identity details), authentication (secure and personal access to a website or application), approval of transactions (confirm a purchase or bank payment), electronically sign documents with legal validity (qualified electronic signature with the highest level of assurance), and, finally, share data from an authentic source with a third party (data sharing). These various functionalities account for an average of 35 million itsme® actions per month, or more than 1 million itsme® actions per day.

itsme® was recognized as a digital identity by the Belgian government in January 2018 and at the European level in December 2019 (LOA high eIDAS). The application is widely used in the financial sector as it complies with PSD2, FATF, and GDPR regulations and has obtained ISO27001 certification.

itsme® was developed by the Belgian Mobile ID consortium, which brings together seven leading players from the Belgian banking and telecommunications sectors: Belfius, BNP Paribas Fortis, KBC/CBC, and ING on one side, and Orange Belgium, Proximus, and Telenet on the other. In mid-2021, for the first time since the identity app’s launch, a government fund became a shareholder, acquiring a 20% stake: the Federal Participation and Investment Company (FPIM). Additionally, six other shareholders contributed extra capital, with the aim of taking further steps towards a European digital identity.

Today, the app is available in 17 European countries: Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Sweden, Spain, and the United Kingdom.
