A few weeks ago, I had the honor of speaking at the 9th Namirial Partner Campus in Paris — an event that has become a landmark for those shaping the future of digital trust services in Europe and beyond.
As I looked at the audience, I saw a powerful blend of familiar faces — partners and colleagues with whom we’ve built strong, enduring relationships — and new faces — customers, innovators, and future leaders eager to help shape what’s next.
This contrast between tradition and innovation perfectly captured this year’s theme:
“Navigating into the future of intelligent trust services.”
The course behind us

Over the past decade, we’ve witnessed a remarkable transformation. Digital identity has evolved from a niche concept into the backbone of digital trust. While adoption has progressed unevenly across countries, the direction of travel has been clear — and irreversible.
At Namirial, we’ve had the privilege of being part of this journey from the very beginning. When the first eIDAS Regulation came into force, we seized the opportunity to leverage our European partner network, becoming a Qualified Trust Service Provider across the EU. That was a major milestone — but also a reminder that, despite a common European framework, national barriers continued to hinder seamless cross-border integration.
Looking back now, the waters may seem calm. But they weren’t — not at first. We had to chart unknown territory and convince enterprise customers that a QTSP registered in one member state could reliably operate across borders. That was no small feat.
Navigating rough waters

Today, with the convergence of eIDAS 2, including the European Digital Identity Wallet (EUDI Wallet), and new anti-money laundering (AML) regulations, we stand at a true inflection point. The future of digital trust will be shaped by these frameworks — alongside the critical requirements introduced by NIS2 and DORA.
These are challenging waters. But should an experienced sailor fear a turbulent sea? Not if the course is clear, the captain competent, and the crew prepared. At Namirial, we believe that’s exactly where we stand.
If you choose to sail with us, as in every transition we’ve faced, you’ll look back in a few years and see calm seas behind you once again.
EUDI Wallet: the promised land

What is the EUDI Wallet — and is it truly the promised land of digital identity?
I like to think of it as the operating system of digital identity: user-centric, cross-border, standardized, secure, and verifiable. It’s not just another tool — it’s the foundation on which the future of digital trust will be built.
But an operating system alone isn’t enough. It’s the apps that bring it to life, drive adoption, and fuel further innovation. We need killer apps to unlock that momentum.
Imagine applying for a loan, sharing your verified identity, address, and credit score with a lender — securely, in seconds, maybe even while standing at a checkout counter.
Or signing documents, logging into portals, authorizing payments — these are just the beginning. The EUDI Wallet will enable thousands of new use cases, driving adoption across both public and private sectors.
Simplicity and compliance: a new competitive advantage

With the new AML Regulation coming into force — particularly in areas like Customer Due Diligence and ongoing monitoring — compliance is no longer a checkbox. It’s becoming a true competitive differentiator.
Institutions that take proactive steps today won’t just reduce regulatory risk — they’ll also gain a real edge in delivering better, faster, and more secure customer experiences. And that’s where the game is being played: how to bring simplicity and compliance together — without compromise.
The answer lies in flexibility. Don’t lock yourself into rigid, one-size-fits-all onboarding flows. Instead, modularize. Build onboarding journeys that adapt dynamically to different risk levels, regulatory environments, and customer segments. This is where Namirial’s orchestration-first approach truly shines: plug in what you need, when you need it — tailored to the context, always compliant, always efficient.
Armor your ship: building resilience

When navigating rough seas, a skilled captain and loyal crew are essential — but they aren’t enough. To go the distance, you must also armor your ship: build resilience, both technically and legally.
Namirial is committed to the highest levels of technical and regulatory compliance, as a QTSP in four EU countries. This isn’t just a certification — it’s a structural advantage as regulations grow more complex.
And resilience means preparing for what’s next — including post-quantum cryptography (check out Pierluigi’s article: “Training crypto-agility to win the giant slalom among Quantum threats”).
Stock your goods securely and ship them fast

Europe’s obsession with data protection is often seen as a constraint — but it’s actually a strength. Privacy is part of our identity, and if we play it right, it’s a strategic asset.
We’ve invested heavily in electronic archiving, securing certifications and expanding capabilities to serve more sectors and jurisdictions. Our goal is clear:
turn data sovereignty into a competitive advantage for Europe.
Conclusions
We’ve sailed through the past, navigated the present, and glimpsed the future. The seas ahead are fast-changing and demanding — but with the right crew, a resilient ship, and a clear course, today’s storm will become tomorrow’s smooth sea.
At Namirial, we’re not just adapting to change — we’re shaping it.
We believe in a Europe where digital trust is a right, not a privilege.
Where compliance powers innovation, not slows it down.
Where data sovereignty is a strength, and identity empowers people — not just systems.
The journey has just begun. The best is yet to come. Are you ready to join us on board?
