Two years after the official launch of the POTENTIAL project in Paris in July 2023, the consortium partners are coming together once again – this time for the Board of Beneficiaries in Prague. The event, co-organized by Czech partner ARICOMA, marks an important milestone as the project moves toward completion. It will provide an opportunity to take stock of the achievements to date, present key outcomes, and strategically plan the final phase of the project.
POTENTIAL (PilOTs for EuropeaN digiTal Identity wALlet) is one of several Large Scale Pilots (LSPs) launched under the European eIDAS initiative to support the development and real-life testing of the European Digital Identity Wallet (EUDI Wallet). This digital wallet will enable citizens and businesses to identify themselves securely and legally valid online, store personal credentials, and access a wide range of cross-border digital services – from age verification to qualified electronic signatures.
The Board of Beneficiaries will focus on reviewing the progress made across key areas:
- Technical infrastructure development of the EUDI Wallet
- Cross-border interoperability of digital identity systems
- Pilot use cases in areas such as mobility, healthcare, finance, and education
- User testing and feedback from early implementations
- Ongoing challenges related to privacy, usability, and regulatory compliance
The event also offers a forum for strategic coordination between the various LSPs, aiming to foster alignment and long-term impact across the European digital identity landscape.
Namirial has been an active consortium partner since the project’s inception, contributing to the integration of qualified trust services into the EUDI Wallet – including digital signatures, eID, strong authentication, and attribute management. Namirial supports these efforts with its Namirial Wallet Platform, designed to meet the interoperability and compliance requirements of the eIDAS Regulation.
A key focus of Namirial’s contribution is to enable legally valid digital transactions within the Wallet environment, ensure seamless integration of qualified electronic signatures, and support secure interaction between end users and service providers across borders.
With its proven expertise in the field of digital identity and trust services, Namirial is committed to building a secure, user-friendly and future-proof digital identity infrastructure in Europe.
Habib Bejaoui, Head of Sales Namirial Germany and Gianmario Cortese, Technical Project Manager & Analyst Wallet Ecosystem & Certified Communication, are looking forward to engaging with fellow consortium members in Prague and continuing to support the successful implementation of the European Digital Identity vision.
