Paolo Campegiani, Ph.D., is Head of Innovation at Namirial. In his role, he is responsible for strategic innovation initiatives, including the analysis of new technologies, the development and management of national and international research projects, and the definition of standards.
He collaborates with various institutions, EU agencies and European governments on the evaluation of policies and research projects in the field of digital identity. He has founded numerous stakeholder associations (including ECSO, INATBA and Gaia-X). He is a member of several standardisation committees (including ISO/TC 307, ETSI ESI, CEN CENELEC JTC 24, CEN CENELEC JTC 21, CEN CENELEC JTC 19, ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 42, U4SSC) and is project leader for two ISO standards on distributed ledgers and digital identity.
In 2023, the innovation brought to Bit4id, a company in the group, was awarded the ‘Premio dei Premi’ (Prize of Prizes), granted by the President of the Italian Republic, for the high level of maturity and quality of the results.
He was an adjunct professor in the Faculty of Computer Engineering at the University of Rome Tor Vergata.
