Namirial has reached a major milestone: its Namirial Onboarding suite has been officially certified under the new European Union requirements for remote identity proofing introduced by the eIDAS 2 Regulation. Thanks to this early compliance with Article 24 and the ETSI TS 119 461 v2.1.1 standard, the company is positioned among the first European providers already prepared for the new rules, which will become mandatory starting in May 2026.
The Namirial Onboarding suite digitizes customer identification through fast and compliant verification processes, combining video recognition, biometrics, and remote signature. Powered by AI and integrations with digital identities (such as SPID and CIE), it reduces errors, operational costs, onboarding times, and environmental impact—ensuring a frictionless user experience and more reliable controls across regulated and non-regulated sectors.
The certification also covers the integration of the various digital identity systems currently available in Europe, as well as the use of future European Digital Identity Wallets, including the Namirial Wallet app. The latter is already designed according to the latest standards for European Digital Identity Wallets and is ready to be used for specific Namirial services, setting a new benchmark for the market.
Why it matters
Europe is entering a new phase of digital trust. With the introduction of eIDAS 2, remote identity verification processes must achieve significantly higher security standards, especially when used to issue qualified electronic signatures or qualified attributes. Starting in May 2026, all organizations issuing qualified certificates remotely must comply with these new requirements. Many solutions currently considered sufficiently secure—such as those based on digital identities with a “substantial” level of assurance—will need to evolve toward “high” levels of security to ensure full compliance.
What Namirial has achieved
Certification from the accredited conformity assessment body confirms that Namirial’s technology can securely manage remote identity verification. The platform can check both physical documents and electronic documents with embedded chips, uses certified biometric technologies to detect and block fraud attempts—including sophisticated digital manipulation—and integrates both existing national digital identities and the upcoming European Digital Identity Wallets, including the Namirial Wallet. All these processes have been validated at the highest security level required by eIDAS 2.
The certification reinforces the company’s leadership in building one of the most reliable ecosystems in Europe for identity management and digital transactions. “This achievement reflects our commitment to supporting organizations in their transition to the future of digital identity,” said Max Pellegrini, CEO of Namirial. “With the new regulations coming into force, we are already fully prepared to support our customers with identity proofing solutions that are fully compliant and future-proof.”
This leadership position adds to previous recognitions, including certification from the French cybersecurity agency ANSSI for remote identity verification services, confirming Namirial’s long-standing expertise in the field.
Organizations can start integrating the newly certified processes immediately and prepare well in advance for regulatory deadlines. The company will present additional details and features of the Namirial Onboarding suite during a dedicated webinar on December 11, with information available on the Namirial website.
What it means for customers
For customers, the certification ensures the ability to adopt fully compliant processes right away, avoiding last-minute adjustments and reducing the risk of non-compliance. Namirial already offers several certified identity verification methods, including NFC-based checks for passports and electronic ID cards, hybrid verification with 24/7 operator review, the use of national digital identity schemes such as SPID, CIE, German ID, and ID Austria, as well as future processes designed for European Digital Identity Wallets.
The platform automatically combines digital identities, advanced fraud-prevention tools, anti-spoofing technologies, biometric analysis, and document authenticity verification—while ensuring a simple mobile-friendly experience with high completion rates.
The Namirial Onboarding suite not only meets the needs of eIDAS 2. The system is already designed to comply with requirements in other regulated areas, such as identity verification for financial services under the European Banking Authority guidelines, the upcoming technical standards of the AMLR Regulation, and the activation of future European Digital Identity Wallets. The ETSI TS 119 461 standard, on which the certification is based, is also expected to gradually replace national schemes such as the French PVID, the Spanish ETD/465/2021 regulation, and the German BaFin rules for remote customer identification.
Contributing to the development of Europe’s digital identity ecosystem
With this achievement, Namirial strengthens its position as the largest provider of qualified trust services in Europe, a Leader for Identity Verification technologies, as recently named in the IDC MarketScape for Identity Verification in Financial Services —and one of the first companies already fully prepared for the arrival of the European Digital Identity Wallet.
