TLS/SSL digital certificates

Namirial TLS/SSL certificates guarantee the identity of your website and protect the exchange of sensitive information through the most advanced encryption.

The TLS/SSL protocol and certificates

The SSL protocol is a security system that ensures that information exchanged between a web browser and a website is protected by encryption. This means that sensitive information such as passwords and credit card numbers cannot be intercepted or changed by third parties during transmission.

When you visit an SSL-protected website, your browser establishes a secure connection with the website server using an SSL certificate. This certificate contains information about the website’s identity, such as its name and address, and a public key used to begin the process of encrypting the information.

The encryption used by the SSL protocol is based on public/private key technology, which uses two different keys to encrypt and decrypt data. The public key is used to encrypt the data, while the private key is used to decrypt the data.

How Does the SSL Protocol Work?

  • When a browser establishes a secure connection with an SSL-protected website, it first generates a symmetric key, or session key, for the current session and sends it to the server encrypted with the SSL certificate’s public key.
  • The server uses the corresponding private key to decrypt the session key. This ensures that only the server, in addition to the browser, can access it.
  • In this way, the browser and the server can use this symmetric key to encrypt and decrypt the data exchanged during the session, in both directions, without the need to use unique private keys for each party.
  • Therefore, even if a third entity were able to intercept the data in transit, it would not be able to read it because it does not have the session key.

In summary, the SSL protocol ensures that information exchanged between a web browser and a website is protected by encryption, making transactions secure and ensuring that sensitive data cannot be intercepted or modified by third parties.

OV (Organization Validation) SSL Certificates

OV standard SSL certificates include verification of the identity and legitimacy of the company. Thanks to the enabling of encryption to protect the transmitted data, they allow you to avoid unpleasant security warnings from the browser. You can optionally add more domains to secure in a single certificate.

EV (Extended Validation) SSL Certificates

EV SSL certificates, thanks to an extended identity verification by Namirial, guarantee the highest level of trust by users and this also ensures a better SEO positioning for your site. Namirial’s EV SSL certificates include the possibility to secure two domains with a single certificate, adding more domains optionally.

Wildcard Certificates

Wildcard SSL certificates are a type of SSL certificate that allows you to secure multiple subdomains with a single certificate. Instead of purchasing an SSL certificate for each subdomain, you can use a wildcard SSL certificate to secure all subdomains of a main domain.

Multi-Domain Certificates

Multidomain SSL certificates are a type of SSL certificate that allows you to secure multiple domains with a single certificate. Multidomain SSL certificates can be used to secure domains that belong to the same organization or are closely related to each other.
